People base their haircuts on many different things, one thing they often leave out is the shape of there face, and if you ask us it’s the most important thing. Every different face shape has haircuts that compliment it. Don’t get us wrong there are some cuts that look great on almost all face shapes. Here are some basic do’s and don’ts for different face shapes.

For A Round Face
You will want to make your face slimmer by taking away some of the body of the hair. This should make your face look longer and narrower. Look for softer cuts that are layered. Consider tapering the ends of your hair to add dimension and bounce. If you want bangs make sure they are long or pulled to one side. Stay away from chop cuts, or short curly hair, this will bring out the roundness not hide it. Here are some people you may know with round faces, Katherine Zeta Jones, Kristen Dunce and Kate Winslet. The handiest styling aid you can have is a paddle brush to keep your hair under control.

For Chiseled Features
If you have strong features you will want to relax them a little. The easiest way to do this is add texture with waves, curls or snipped ends. The best styles for you are short, messy, medium length and lots of layers; just remember you are trying to take the focus off of your features so nothing to wild. Your nemesis is going to be bobs, chopped layers which will bring out your rugged features. Some people you may know that have chiseled features are Paris Hilton, Carmon Electra and Demi Moore.

For an Oval Face
Most haircuts were created with oval shaped faces in mind. Almost any length or texture of hair suites an oval shaped face. If you have high cheek bones try bob. If you have killer eyes an updo is perfect. Bangs and curls work great and give you that relaxed look and feel. Stay away from volume, choppy layers and short curly cuts. Some people you may recognize with oval faces are Megan Fox, Amanda Peet and Halle Berry. The best styling aid you can have is a curling or flat iron.

For A Long Face
This is a tough one, good hair cuts for this style are medium length with bangs. Long layered bobs work well but don’t go short; it will make your face appear longer. Volume is good in this case it adds dimension. Long hair can draw the face down so shy away from it. Shy away from super short or really long it will make you look masculine. Here are a few people you might recognize with long faces Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler and Rumur Willis. The styling aid you will want is a volumizing and finishing spray.

For A Heart Shaped Face
The way your face is shaped makes people drawn to your chin. Take the focus off of it with bob and layered cuts that are medium length. If you have shorter hair make sure it has soft features. If your hair is longer make sure it is at least past your cheek bones. Stay away from chop cuts and chopped layers. People you may know that have a heart shaped face are Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Rihanna.
